Common questions
Can I get my designs out?
Yes. Import STEP, IGES, and STL; export STEP, STL, and 3MF. Open-readable project files. No proprietary lock-in.
Is it really free?
We'll offer free cloud-managed access during early access. Self-hosting will be free forever. Later, cloud and commercial use is paid.
Is this a real CAD tool or a toy?
It runs on OpenCASCADE, the same industry geometry kernel behind professional tools, with full parametric history, constraints, and assemblies.
Do I need to install anything?
No. N3XD runs in any modern browser, with nothing to download or configure. Mobile works in read-only mode.
Can I keep my data private?
Self-host from our open Codeberg repo, or use on-premise plans for stricter control. Your projects stay where you put them.
Is my model sent to an AI?
Only if you use the cloud AI assistant. Self-hosted and standalone N3XD make no AI calls at all.
